Newport Bermuda Race Participant Plaque "Garage Sale"

Bob Darbee, long-time Newport Bermuda Awards Chair, has accumulated a miscellaneous stock of the (standard-sized) 3 1/4"x 4 1/2" brass Participant Plaques traditionally given to each finishing vessel which reads: "For Successfully Completing . . . the Newport Bermuda Race" with the specific year stated in the middle of this line.

Over the years many skippers have inquired about additional Plaques for their trophy room, to replace a damaged one aboard, or to give to a shipmate who did the Race with them.

Bob is running a "garage sale" on this surplus stock.  They can be had for $50 each, shipping included.  There is a random and limited number available from each Race going back to and including 1998.  Interested skippers may purchase them by sending an e-mail to Bob: rsd@omni99.com, putting the words "Participant Plaque" in the subject.  Because of the limited supply and to be fair to all, indicate your interest as follows:  List Plaques you order in sequence of your most desired choice by year and number.  Orders will be filled on a "round-robin" allocation basis.  Thus, there may or may not be sufficient available to fill your entire "wish list."  Therefore it is important to list those you desire in order of your priority.

Plaques Available in varying quantities:  1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 (Centennial), 2008, 2010, 2012.

Plaques are available only to those who have indeed "successfully completed" the respective Race.  Consequently orders can only be placed by those skippers.  If you did the Race as crew, make arrangements with your skipper to have him or her place your order.

If ordering, please read and follow carefully:

Do nothing until your order is confirmed back by e-mail indicating which Plaques can be delivered to you and your total amount due.  Then, all payments by check made out to "CCA" in correct amount must be received within 7 calendar days from date of your confirmation e-mail.  Payments received after that date go to the end of the line and may result in a cancelled order due to "out-of-stock."  Ultimately all orders will be filled on a "first-come, first-served" basis so long as there is supply.

These are brand-new Plaques, most in never previously opened packaging.  When shipped to you they may have been opened, and re-sealed to double-check the year but are otherwise "mint."

Bob is doing this in his "spare" time so - Please, Please, Please - make all communication clear and accurate so there is no confusion or disappointment with order execution.  If your e-mail correspondence does not conform to the instructions above or is otherwise unclear it may result in a voided order due to lack of clarity.  We've got to keep this simple and straightforward as there are no resources to turn this into a "Global Shipping Business."   This is a "garage sale" so all transactions are final and when stock is gone, it is gone.
