The first Bermuda Race was held more than a century ago in 1906, making this race the world's oldest regularly scheduled ocean race. The Bermuda Race fleet grew to a record of 263 boats in the centennial year of 2006, with 198 boats in 2008.  Monohulls of all kinds participate: cruiser-racers, family cruisers, and state-of-the-art racers.  As always, the main prize (the classic St. David's Lighthouse Trophy) will go to the top cruiser-racer with an amateur crew.

We Welcome Newcomers

Advice from Bermuda Race Ambassadors is available to aid skippers in preparation of their vessels. If you are interested in working with a Race Ambassador to get prepared, contact Participation Chairman Fred Deichmann.

While the race can be a test of boat and crew, the rewards of the blue water experience provide a sense of accomplishment that is impossible to replicate.

Please forward this notice to anybody you know who might want to sail the race as skipper or crew and make sure they sign up for race e-mail. Since all communications and registration will be online, check
www.bermudarace.com regularly.

We look forward to seeing you at the start, Friday, June 18, 2010.
